Selling ATI 5850 Empty Selling ATI 5850

Post by loading Wed Jan 26, 2011 5:06 pm

They were just collecting dust on my shelf so I decided I'm going to sell my two Sapphire 5850 Toxic's.

Bought 'em for around $350 at the time. Only asking for $100 + shipping for them.

Linky: Sapphire 5850 Toxic

I'll be posting some pictures of them later tonight when I get home. PM me if you're interested.

Chao.

Hmmm, can't edit my first post. To be clear it's $100 per card. Cheeky bastards.

Been AWOL.

Also for Nadicus, a simple hierarchy chart for both Nvidia and ATI cards.

The 560 TI is actually better with AA then the 5850. The 560 TI will also be better at higher resolutions.

The only difference is the power draw which really, nvidia did pretty well with the TI series to bring them down to ATI's level.

I'd stick with the 560 TI. Since the pixel fill rates thanks to the higher amount of CUDA's really help push the monster.

They are quite similar cards, and you are right, the 560ti is great at higher resolutions (I play on 1920x1600 (24inch screen) and get 100+ FPS on HIGH everything in COD:BO, which I'd say is damn good), except it stinks with CSS, which is likely my game, not the card, since Im getting superb FPS in newer, better, games.

Yeah, it's the game. For some reason, and not always, earlier source engine games, engine update or not, like too bottleneck GPU's that are Dual or SLI/XFIRE

Vertical sync will lock your FPS to your screens refresh rate (in most cases 60Hz; unless your special, have money to burn and own an IPS monitor).

Could be what's causing it. Also, I know ATI likes to put in profile drivers for newer games that turns on Super Sampling for AA. Might check your card settings and see if their set to Application Control rather then using manual settings.

IMO: fast frames > screen tearing especially for a FPS

Well, I'm pretty sure I have Vertical Sync off. (I turn that shit off on every game). Can't remember if I ever changed the FPS max but I hardly play Black Ops. But it is a constant 60fps and no lag.
