Loot Crate! Empty Loot Crate!

I just heard about something called 'Loot Crate'.  You sign up (~$15 per month) and each month they mail you a box of 'loot' containing various gamer/nerd/awesome things inside valued at ~$40.  We went and ate at Sonic earlier today and it was over $16, so I said what the hell and signed up for April's crate to give it a shot (ships on the 20th).  They seem to do all sorts of just random stuff each month....it looks awesome and I thought some of you would enjoy it as well.  April's theme is 'Dragons'.

If you're interested, use the link above and when you check out use coupon code "KIIPCREDIT5" for $5 off your subscription.

scratch How much are they paying you Dill? I mean I guess if you're into surprises and that stuff. It's an interesting idea but I've I've yet to find anything I would enjoy while looking at the earlier crates. I guess 2nerdy4me. Thanks for sharing though. I've only heard about makeup companies doing these kinds of deals so I wonder what other companies do this. I would be interested in investing in something less nerdy or like food supply crates that would be parachuted to my front door.   Basketball  albino  Laughing  Razz

Ha....Yea April's crate goes out in a few days....I just did a 1 month trial to see if it's worth a damn.  It's Game of Thrones themed with some Elder Scrolls stuff I hear (Dragons, etc).  We'll see.

I know they do something called 'Bark Box'....it's just like this but they send you a variety of stuff for dogs each month (toys/treats/etc).  I don't know, was just throwing this out there.  I'll let you know what I think once I get it in a few days.

April's Loot Crate (Dragon themed) included an exclusive Elder Scrolls Online figure (The Nord), a Game of Thrones Mystery Mini (1 of 16 random miniatures - I got a black Dire Wolf), "Dragon" jerky (was a greenish color, tasted alright), Dragon Shield Screen Cleaner, 20 Sided Foam Stress Dice, a real D20 (1 of 6 colors, mine was black), and Dragon Slayer Dog Tags (the cat absolutely loves the silver chain). Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10. But May's crate looks extremely promising.

May's theme is "Adventure" and will include things from The Legend of Zelda, Minecraft, etc. It is also coming with a t-shirt and multiple other goodies valued at ~$40 for just $15! If you want to try it out, this is the month. Crates ship on the 19th, sign up here:http://mbsy.co/lootcrate/4354945

Loot Crate! Empty Re: Loot Crate!

Cool idea, wish they would do something similar for games.  I imagine they just bulk purchase from either oems or warehouses that are trying to liquidate, so if anyone's interested in other sites like that read on.

There's something similar called massdrop.com, except you know what you are getting.  How it works, is that you sign up on an item page you want, the more people sign up the less it costs to purchase each unit due to bulk discounts that are commonly given to promote bigger purchases from retailers.  The drawback is that there's at least a month wait from what I hear because of the time it takes for people to sign up, for the website to receive the delivery, then for them to mass mail out the merchandise.

Figured it was worth bringing it up tho.
