Sugggggesstions

I had a few suggestions....some are crappy and might be impossible, but some might be worth consideration...

1.) Goalie hands! Is there a way so that when you type !gk for the goalie skin, maybe it makes your hands different, so that you're wearing goalie gloves? This is probably impossible to do, but I thought it would be funny to swat at the ball with your hands instead of a knife if you were a GK....or it could just royally fuck everything up and be disorienting for veteran players...who knows, just an idea.

2.) Pug timeouts: I think we should limit pug timeouts.

Option A: Give each team 1 time out per half (instead of the current two)

Option B: Make each timeout 30 seconds instead of 1 minute.

Option C: No timeouts at all.

Of course, leave everything be for matches. But when it comes to pugs, timeouts really just disrupt the flow of the game and slow things down to a crawl. I think Option B would be best IMO.

3.) Pug Halftime: Is this really necessary? I think this should be reduced to 30 seconds or dropped altogether and play the pug all the way through the 30 minutes. Nothing ever happens during half time except people go AFK.

I didn't really elaborate too much on the pros/cons of each option, but I thought I'd just toss this idea out there. What do you guys think?

Option B sounds good to me, but id settle for any of them, TO in pugs are dumb.

Forcing client side weapon models is impossible, so no gloves.

I like Option B and having a shorter/no half time.

After talking with a few other people on steam, I think having the timeouts and halftime for pugs be 30 seconds would be a good idea. 30 seconds, in most cases, should give you enough time to go grab a drink, take a piss, or rearrange some positions if you're the captain. And if you need the extra time, you can always call that 2nd time out.

On another note, I really like the job you guys did with the Goalie skins. They look nice and it adds a little bit more color/flavor to the game.

Also, Stinger, you should add the OLD version of the ka_soccer map to the server. I would like to try a pug with glitch goals and flag poles one time.

As far as the rest of this topic goes, I made an LO vote to see about these changes for PSL, but I will already be changing this for my server (Ill be doing no halftime, but two 30 second timeouts available.)

Half time: I don't like the "no half time" at all. On paper it seems like it'll speed things up, but in practice, to me at least, it kinda makes things seem.....incomplete. A part of what makes a soccer match is that you play two halves, typically separated by that half time. Without it, I just kept waiting for something that was never going to come! I think a 30 second half time would be best.

Time Outs: I think having three 30 second time outs would be best for the time out situation. 30 seconds may seem like a short time, but you can just call a 2nd time out right after if you need additional time to get things done. It's like in the NBA, where the coach can call a "Full" or a shorter "20 second" time out...except for us it will always be that shorter time out and we'll just have to call multiple 30 second timeouts to get to that full minute we're used to....if necessary.

Before, teams had 2 one minute time outs per half with a 1 minute half time, giving them each a potential of 5 extra minutes of stoppage time. If we do 3 thirty second time outs plus a 30 second half time, that brings it down to 3:30 of stoppage time for games. I think this would be sufficient to get 95% of things done and should hopefully speed things up especially when someone only needs a quick time out to do something.

I think half time should still be 30 seconds atleast, preferably 1 minute, the TOs 30 seconds limited to one or two per half.

TO's are more necessary than half-time to be honest, so I don't want to cut down on them too much, cutting down half makes sense.. Though I like Dill's idea of having 30 second half times and having 3 per half.

IMO - Try 30 second half time + one 1 minute timeout per half. 30 second timeouts seems dumb to me.

Nope. It requires some scripts / is hard to run with an admin plugin + eventscripts. But ill put on any mod / map that doesn't require scripts.
