TBH, I've never heard of them, and when I listened to the first few seconds of a couple of the links you provided, I honestly felt that what I heard was not particularly good. This is just my opinion, keep in mind, so I was just confused as to what exactly you were posting about. Also, being "super popular" still doesn't mean that people would know them even if they were around back then.
