Poll - Goalie Skins

Do you guys want to have goalie skins available in pugs / matches?

would make it easier imo

People just love new skins, but this is pointless. You don't need to know who the fuck the goalie is, you should already know who the goalie is. What does them having a different skin on change? If anything, mine aswell just change the entire CT and T skins just for something new.

I agree with Lone.

TBH I don't really think there is any point of having them but I don't really see a problem if we do in PUGs at least. Only thing that should be prevented is having like 5 people having a GK skin on at once.

My 2 cents:

1) Lone's basically right, I think most of the people that voted yes just want any skin change. New default skins (or several sets of) would be much better.

2) The problem with GK skins is assigning them. We can't do ez name changes anymore. You can have a command to set it on/off, but then you have to trust that people will actually do it (1 goalie has his skin on, the other team doesn't). You could also have it manually set (ie admin) but then you have to trust that the admins will do it.

Thanks to BJ and Panda, we now have our goalie skins fully operational on my pug server. However, if you want to see the real skins that are on the server you must follow some steps to delete old ones (they are much nicer then the soccer mod ones) :

1. Locate your cstrike folder (Program Files -> Steam -> steamapps -> accname -> counter-strike source -> cstrike)

2. Go into the following directory :

materials/models/player/soccer_mod/termi/2011

3. Delete the gkhome and gkaway folders.

4. Rejoin the server and let the download complete. You may see error skins after connecting, in which case you just need to restart CS:S.

And another thanks to Panda for scripting it so only one person on each team can be a goalie.

I didn't find the specified folder you mentioned. I had to use the path:

cstrike/models/materials/player/soccer_mod/termi/2011

There wasn't a "soccer_mod" folder in materials/models/player location. But there was one in the models/materials/player location. Models first, then materials.

Thats weird. I would say that you just didn't have any soccer mod skins downloaded (if you only played in PSL servers you wouldn't have downloaded them), but that doesn't explain the directory you have of models/material.. Materials/models is normal though.

Found a glitch. When someone is gk and switches to the other team it will still say there is a gk on that team if anyone tries to type !gk. So anyone who types !gk has to type it again to take their gk off if they want to switch to the other team for some reason.(could also see this as a problem if someone leaves game as a gk or times out, but not sure as that hasnt happened yet.) I love the skins though!

Yeah we found that one last night, it'll be fixed today. As far as someone leaving / timing out, that was also found last night but has already been fixed.
