End of Season Awards Ideas

The LOs have decided to bring back the Awards system. Towards the end of the season awards will be given out. Some awards will be given to a player(s) automatically and others will be voted on. Please post your ideas for awards here and the LOs will vote on them at a later meeting.I will update the list before with the new ideas posted.

Is everyone a rookie this season?

No, qualifications for this award have not yet been determined. But it will most likely be any player that has not played in a season prior to the formation of the PSL.

But, don't hold me to that, haha

Thats what I was thinking too. These are just ideas right now. The LOs will vote on which ones we will have and what the qualifications will be at a later meeting.

But I have a question, how will the winners be determined (other than the statistical ones, such as top scorer). Will the LOs come up with like 5 or 6 candidates and then the public vote for it? Or the reverse, pubic nominate some then the LOs decide? Or should the LOs just decide on their own/the pubic just decide on their own.

The only humbug I have about the public deciding is that there will be some bias, for example, say I am on Sf (no hostility intended), and Stinger gets nominated for captain of the year, there might be an unconscious or conscious bias that may make me vote for him over another captain just because he is on my team/my friend. Whereas if LOs decided there would probably be less/no bias.

As I said before. For now we are just getting ideas for awards. Next time the LOs meet we will discuss which awards we will give out and how everything will be determined. I see where you are coming from because a team's players will probably vote for their own captain. We will talk about it at the LO meeting and notify everyone as soon as possible.

I've got a question. For awards such as top scorer/assister. What will be done for teams that had other teams forfeit against them. Would you like add their goals per game average, as it is done for the Goal Diff.?

ex. Bob scored 15 goals/assists in 5 games. But a team forfeited against Bobs team therefore disallowing him to score in a game.

So take the average and add it to his total.

15/5 = 3
Total / Games Played = Average

3 + 15 = 18
Average + Total = New Total

Therefore Bob scores 18 goals/assists.

But there would also be a problem with this, it would have to be recorded who actually showed up for the forfeited game, and obviously this would only be factored in if the person has a chance at the goal/assist award.

Have the amount of total points (Goals + Assists) to be an award. Could change name though.
